Submission of onshore planning application

Following the submission of a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) to Angus Council in March 2016 and subsequent Public Consultation Events held in Carnoustie and Tealing, Seagreen Wind Energy Ltd (Seagreen), a joint venture between SSE Renewables Developments (UK) Ltd and Fluor Ltd, has, at the start of July 2016, submitted an application to Angus Council to renew the extant onshore Planning Permission in Principle (PPP).

The application for Onshore Transmission Works is for electrical transmission infrastructure comprising 19km of underground electricity transmission cables between Carnoustie and Tealing, a new substation/convertor station adjacent to the existing electricity substation at Tealing, along with access and ancillary works.

The proposed works are identical to that already approved by existing permissions granted by Angus Council in 2013 and 2014, which are due to expire on the 4th December 2016.  These works are required to connect the Seagreen Alpha and Seagreen Bravo offshore windfarms to the national electricity transmission network (grid).
