Application to remove capacity limit submitted

Seagreen Wind Energy Limited (SWEL) have submitted an application to Marine Scotland to remove the capacity limit on the Section 36 consents and Marine Licences for the Alpha Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) and Bravo OWF.

This would allow installation of higher capacity wind turbines under the existing consent parameters.  As described in the cover letter issued with the application, and the supporting Offshore Consents Variation Application Report,  none of the physical parameters of the developments would change and there would be no implications for the environmental effects of the project.

An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required.

The variation application cover letter is available here.

The supporting Offshore Consents Variation Application Report is available here.

The Section 36 consent granted under the Electricity Act 1989 (as amended) for Alpha OWF, and that SWEL are seeking to vary,  is available on Marine Scotland’s website here: http://www.gov.scot/Resource/0046/00460530.pdf

The Section 36 consent granted under the Electricity Act 1989 (as amended) for Bravo OWF, and that SWEL are seeking to vary,  is available on Marine Scotland’s website here: http://www.gov.scot/Resource/0046/00460531.pdf
