Seagreen - Temporary Road Closures

Updated: Jun 28, 2022

As we progress with works in the Murroes & Wellbank area, one of our next steps is to install the ducts required for the electrical works along the cable route across several roads. Unfortunately, this work will require some temporary road closures. Diversions will be put in place around these closures and the traffic management company will install signage at each of the designated locations prior to works commencing to warn the public of upcoming works and to highlight where the diversions are.

We had originally hoped to avoid road closures but following further investigation by our Contractor the decision was taken (and agreed through Angus Council Roads Department) to move from traffic management systems to temporary closures. This decision is primarily based on health & safety reasons but also logistically too as some of the roads are single track which will not allow for lane closures. Also, in terms of timing, temporary closures will allow the works to progress at a greater pace, reducing the period of time involved where a local impact is felt.

A map highlighting the location of each road closure is shown below. Closures are booked in for a maximum of a two week period, although, the intention is for the works to take less than the full two weeks. Indicative dates are also noted below. To view the diversion routes please click on the relevant RX links below the map:-
