Updated: Oct 14, 2022

Tealing Community Council and Seagreen Wind Energy Ltd have donated and planted two trees at Tealing Primary School to mark HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Red Oak and Scots Pine have been planted at the north-eastern edge of the school grounds.

Tealing Community Council Chairman Alan Slade said:

“Given the recent death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we have dedicated the trees to the reign of Her Majesty. We would like to thank Seagreen and especially Bob Morrison and Iain MacColl; for their help with the planting of the trees.”

Michael Smith, Head Teacher at Tealing Primary School commented:

“We are very grateful to Tealing Community Council and to the team at Seagreen for choosing to plant these two beautiful trees in the grounds of our school.

“It is a fitting tribute in support of ‘The Queen’s Green Canopy’ initiative and a wonderful way to commemorate Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

Pauline Allison, Stakeholder Engagement Manager for Seagreen said: “We are so pleased to have been given the opportunity to be involved in supporting such a lovely project donating the trees to Tealing Primary School.

“Our Site Reps, Bob and Iain had great fun helping the school children dig the holes and plant the trees.”
